A Packed October in 2023

This year, Manchester is holding nothing back with back-to-back events that will suit various audiences. October is known for many things in the UK: half-term holidays, Halloween, Oktoberfest, and so much more.

We've broken down the most interesting (and lesser-known, but equally entertaining) things you can look forward to this autumn month.

Don't forget to book CitySuites this autumn for an elevated stay!

Halloween - MCR Monsters

Mcr Monsters

From the 25th of October, the MCR Monsters are back in town to terrorise the locals! These loving creatures are set to make an appearance for Halloween in Manchester, taking over various locations such as Arndale and other well-known locations.

Keep a look out for these terrible abominations! (Don't forget to submit your photos with the hashtag #MCRMonsters).

For both local bookworms and visitors of Manchester who enjoy written media, the Manchester Literature Festival is a celebration of fiction. With a mission to show off the best in modern writing through poetry, novels, scripts and others, Manchester's Literature Festival brings the best of literature to life.

From October 12th until the 22nd, the event will feature a variety of showcases, performances and workshops. Don't miss out this year.

The Half Marathon in Manchester is taking place on October 15 this year, and the day is commonly full of excitement and vibrancy. While it's more exciting for those taking part, there's nothing wrong with joining in supporting those who have trained to take on a colossal task like this!

The Folk Festival
