Outdoor Events in Manchester Summer 2021
After over a year of lockdown restrictions and cancellations, we all deserve some fun-filled days and nights out this summer. As social distancing measures and COVID regulations will still be in place, many events will now be held outside or in purpose built outdoor venues across Manchester over the coming months.
The city centre has a lot to offer this summer, providing so many fun and exciting opportunities for meeting up with family, friends and colleagues, as well as providing a stunning backdrop for a romantic day trip or evening out. To help you find the best things to do outdoors in Manchester this summer, we’ve rounded up the top 5 outdoor events in store for you this year.
See the City in Blossom at Manchester Flower Show
Date: 29th May- 6th June
Location: Various locations in the city centre
A breath of fresh air is set to come over the city centre this year as the seasons change from Spring to Summer at the beauty that is Manchester Flower Show. The event will take place from Saturday 29th May to Sunday 6th June across some of the city’s most idyllic spots including Manchester Cathedral, Whitworth Art Gallery, Spinningfields and Kings Street.
Bright blooms and floral displays will be on show around the city, from grand water fountain features to intricate pieces on lampposts and window sills, all to celebrate the vibrant heart of our city. Dotted throughout the trail of bold bouquets and dainty petals will be an array of alfresco dining areas and entertainment acts will also be performing during the 9 day event.
Take a Stand at Manchester Pride Festival
Date: 27th - 30th August

The Manchester Pride annual festival celebrates LGBTQ+ members of the community, marking and pursuing the right to live and love freely, without prejudice. This year, Manchester’s community Pride celebrations are set to include the ever successful Gay Village party, Youth Pride event and of course, the Manchester Pride Parade.
This year marks 30 years since the launch of Manchester’s first major gay club night back in 1991. Since then, Manchester’s very own Canal Street has become the heart of the city’s gay village and annual Pride event, with 2019’s parade seeing over 14,000 people marching and tens of thousands of spectators coming to join the celebrations and show their support. As ever, this year’s celebrations will be sure to bring oodles of fun, colour and entertainment along with the all-important sense of solidarity and pride.
Dance the Night Away at Parklife Festival
