Room to celebrate with CitySuites in 2019

2019 has arrived, and soon so will some very special occasions that you can celebrate right here at CitySuites Manchester.

To help you plan ahead, here is a list of the best spots in Manchester to celebrate events in the first few months of 2019, including Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.

Chinese New Year Manchester City Centre

Chinese New Year – 7th February

Manchester is famous for its extraordinary Chinese New Year celebrations, with a three-day event taking over the city centre from the 7th-10th of February. This includes the Annual Chinatown Dragon Parade, street food stalls and art exhibitions.

This year the city will play host to a mix of traditional festivities and family activities, such as Chinese crafts workshops at Manchester Arndale and special events at Manchester Central Library and Manchester Art Gallery.

We suggest wandering over to Spinningfields, just a ten minute walk from CitySuites, for a bite to eat at Tattu. The restaurant offers a modern spin on popular Chinese cuisine – our favourite dish has to be the Black Angus fillet with caramel soy sauce, simply divine!

Valentine’s Day – 14th February

This year we are treating guests to an exclusive Valentine’s Day offer, including complimentary prosecco and luxury chocolates. Whether you want to spend the evening sharing a bottle of red wine over a candlelit dinner, or prefer something a bit more casual, Manchester has something to suit everyone.

If you’re looking for a fine dining option, our top recommendation has to be Albatross & Arnold with Michelin-trained Head Chef Jonathan Green. Featuring carefully sourced seasonal game, meat, fish and vegetables, as well as a stellar wine list and stylish surroundings, this Spinningfields eatery is nothing short of exquisite.

Thinking outside of the box? A solid alternative to the traditional restaurant date is an evening of darts and boozy slushies a Flight Club on King Street, a ten minute walk from CitySuites. You can enjoy a giant pizza paddle for two whilst sipping on a cocktail from their award winning drinks menu in the eclectic fairground-themed bar.

After an evening of romance, return to your deluxe signature one bed apartment at CitySuites and cuddle down in a cosy king-sized bed under the finest Egyptian cotton sheets.

Mother’s Day – 31st March

If you’re struggling for ways to show your mum how much she means to you this Mother’s Day, a stay at CitySuites and a visit to the latest and greatest eateries is sure to put a smile on her face.

Treat your mum to an extravagant afternoon tea for two at Richmond Tea Rooms and tuck into one of its famous platters of dainty finger sandwiches, fruit scones and a pot of tea or glass of bubbly.

Menagerie has its own contemporary take on the traditional afternoon tea, with a range of sharing dishes like macaroni cheese, burger sliders and medianoche Cuban sandwiches.

To finish off the perfect Mother’s Day, head back to CitySuites for a glass of prosecco in our luxurious Executive Lounge and a relaxing dip in our 18 metre pool and serene spa pool.
