Strike your way to glory at Manchester’s National Football Museum
Here in Manchester, we’re so lucky to be home to the largest and best football museum in the world, the National Football Museum. This half term, they’re putting a bunch of great events and activities for all the family to get stuck into!
From the 28th October to the 1st November, the National Football Museum will be hosting ‘Strip! Production Line’ where you’ll be able to see more than 200 famous shirts in their fantastic exhibition before creating your very own version with the help of the museum team. They will then hand select the very best designs to be entered into a competition for your design to be turned into a real kit for the lucky winner!
From the 29th to the 31st October, why not get creative and join in with their card polaroid camera making workshop! Before testing your nerve on the penalty shoot out.
Pick the best Pumpkin from the patch at Dunham Patch
Get your wellies on and get picking at Dunham Patch over in Boundary Farm in Dunham Massey. Wade your way through the huge fields and burn off some steam as you look to find your favourite Pumpkin to take home with you and decorate just in time for Halloween.
Book your tickets (£5 each), over on their website now to make sure you get a spot, and head over between the 24th and the 31st October to get your very own Pumpkin. With their homemade wood-fired pizza and apple juice also on offer, pumpkin picking is a great way to spend an afternoon during the October half term in Manchester.

Book a free visit to Manchester’s wonderful Science and Industry Museum this October half term to discover the wonders of Earth’s closest star; the Sun. Take a look at some amazing sun-themed objects, Watch the sun rise all over the world or strike a pose and try on sunglasses at their unforgettable indoor beach!
The exhibition will be running right up until the 29th November, but make sure you book online before you go!
Hop On Board a Terrifying Train Journey Filled with Spooky Tales
If you’re looking for Halloween themed things to do with the kids this October Half Term, then look no further than the East Lancashire Railway fun-filled, spooky train trip! Lasting approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes, the whole family can work together to solve the intriguing mystery of “Irwell Grimm”.
With fantastic socially distanced meet and greets with awesome Halloween characters and a train ride from Bury to Irwell Vale and back, this will definitely be a train ride to remember. Book tickets via their website here.
