Can I stay in a hotel during the latest lockdown effective from January 5th 2021?

England will be in a national lockdown effective from January 5th 2021, this means that unless your planned stay is deemed 'essential' for one of the reasons below, you won't be able to stay until further notice. Essential travel exceptions include:

  • CitySuites is your primary residence
  • You are moving to a new house or require a place to live whilst relocating
  • You are attending a funeral or relevant event
  • You need a place to stay for work purposes
  • You need a place to stay to attend education or training
  • You need a place to stay to attend a medical appointment or treatment

Can I stay in a hotel for work in lockdown?

You can stay in a hotel for work during the current and latest lockdown travel restrictions. If you need to work away from home for work purposes then you will be able to make a booking under these circumstances.

Will swimming pools be open in lockdown?

Swimming pools and other leisure facilities will not be open under the latest lockdown COVID related government guidelines effective from January 5th 2021.

When do I need to wear a face covering as a guest at CitySuites? 

That's correct, you'll need to wear a face covering when entering the CitySuites building. Everyone in the building including guests, staff and visitors must wear a face covering in all public areas including the lobby, lifts, restaurant (until seated) and Executive Lounge.

What do I do if I already have a booking with CitySuites during a national lockdown and what is their cancellation policy? 

We understand that things may change that are out of the control of our guests, including the latest announcement,  so we are offering reservation amendments for anyone who has a reservation (between January 5th 2021 - 19th February 2021) booked at CitySuites, regardless of the original booked rate or cancellation policy.

If you are not sure what dates you’d like to rearrange your stay with us, we can offer a voucher to the same value of your original reservation. Please contact CitySuites reservations team directly to amend your booking either via reservations@citysuites.com or by calling 0161 302 0202. If you have booked a flexible rate with us, then you can cancel your booking online for a full refund up to 24 hours prior to your arrival date.

What do I do if I have a booking at CitySuites from 5th January 2021? 

As you will have heard the UK Government has prohibited non-essential travel from this date. If you have a reservation already booked in at CitySuites then our reservations team will actively get in contact with you to rearrange your stay for another date unless the stay is deemed as 'essential-travel'. We advise all of our customers with impacted bookings to ring directly to rearrange their bookings where possible, regardless of the original booked rate or cancellation policy. I would like to make a booking for a future date, what if I need to cancel? 

We appreciate that things change, we have a flexible 24-hour cancellation policy for bookings placed on flexible rates. For more information please view our terms and conditions.

I booked through a third party (such as Booking.com, Secret Escapes, Hotels.com or Expedia), what do I need to do? 

Guests who have made a booking via a third party online travel site are advised to contact them (the third-party) directly to make any changes to their reservation. For more information please refer to your booking confirmation email.

Are the facilities such as gym, swimming pool, restaurant and bar open at CitySuites? 

In accordance with government guidelines, our swimming pool, gym and restaurant facilities are closed from January 5th 2021 until further notice. We are closely monitoring ever-evolving government guidance around COVID19 measures.

What are CitySuites doing to create a safe environment for guests?

Glad you asked! Our housekeeping teams follow health & safety procedures, including using hospitality branded disinfectant throughout the public spaces and practising social distancing measures.
The CitySuites team have implemented additional prevention strategies, including but not limited to:
• Social distancing measures have been put in place throughout the building.
• Cleaning all public spaces every two hours.
• Housekeeping services have been adapted in line with new measures. 
• Key cards are disinfected upon arrival. We are also offering a key card drop off station at checkout to further prevent physical contact.
• We’ve also diarised, 'Virus Fogging' spray treatment in the communal areas, reception and luggage store that will add an additional sanitisation and disinfection against the virus.

What resources have you used to adapt your health and safety policies due to COVID19? 

Prior to lockdown being introduced, we invited a Chief Welfare Officer (CWO) to advise how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the CitySuites building.
